On the 28th of June, the Melbourne University Netball and Rugby clubs all converged on Brens Pavillion to celebrate the end of the Autumn Season and to drink a lot of cocktails. We successfully did both well into the early hours of the morning.

The Presentation Night kicked off first with awards handed out for Coaches Choice, Players Choice and Most Improved. Congratulations to all award winners, it was undoubtedly highly deserved, and we wish you and your teammates all the best for the Spring Season. The coaches, or course, were not forgotten, all receiving gifts from Koko Black to thank them for their time and support. After a couple of wines and a lot of Koko Black chocolate later, the presentation night finished just before 8.

The real fun however, began after 8 when the Rugby Club arrived and the cocktails were poured. Tables were cleared to make way for the dance floor and the music was turned up. First up was the Midori Illusion, then we had the very blue Fruit Tingle, followed by a very strong Black Russian, anything after this is hard to remember.

Just about everyone got on to the dance floor at some point (including the Rugby Boys) and there was an unsuccessful attempt to start karaoke (unfortunately the microphone couldn’t be found). Things started to wind up early into the next day, and those foolish enough to stick around were left to clean up the mess.

A huge Thank-You needs to go out to the Rugby Club for helping us with our Presentation Night – a special mention goes to Dan Kelly, Paul Salter, and the other helpers we had on the night. Their help was very much appreciated and made our lives a lot easier. Thank-you to all committee members who got their early and to the girl from Koko Black who made up 30 boxes of chocolates in about 20 minutes.

The committee have a number of different events planned for the coming season, details of which will be forwarded when known. Possibilities include a Ball, Trivia Night and the Presentation Night/Christmas Party to end the season and the year.

The committee looks forward to seeing all of you at these events, and we wish you all the best for the coming season.
